Tyce's Preschool Graduation!!!

Tyce is officially DONE with preschool!  In fact, the whole MORRILL FAMILY is done with preschool!  Tyce graduated from Bethel Lutheran Preschool and it's been a fantastic year there.  I'm not even going to apologize for the amount of pics I am posting because, seriously, he was stinkin adorable!

They did a processional into the sanctuary with the graduation song playing, it seriously brought tears to my eyes...
They sang tons of adorable songs...
He turned around for me to get a quick pic...
 Tyce and Mrs. Blue...
He sure loved his diploma, I mean spyglass!

After graduation they had a little social in the gym...Mrs. Blue made each of the kids a scrapbook of the year, it was wonderful and Tyce LOVES looking at it and remembering every detail about his beloved preschool experience...
Time to head home, but wait, just a few more pics!

The next day they had an end of the school year picnic, Tyce had a blast playing with all his friends...

After the picnic we met up with Kimberly and Jake to head to Generous George's, this super cute restaurant where they got to make their own pizzas!

After lunch we took them to a little play area to enjoy the beautiful weather...
I had very mixed emotions with Tyce finishing preschool, because it has been a fantastic year.  I have loved having the mornings to myself but also look forward to him coming home in the afternoon.  I will miss him next year.  He is SO sad preschool is over.  He seriously loved preschool more than anything.  I will do my very best though to keep his social calendar filled because that is what Mr. Social Butterfly loves!  Congrats Tycee on a FABULOUS year in preschool!!!

Update

I think the twins look so cute in hats and I hate that they can't wear them to school BUT the other day was hat day so they were excited.  Speaking of hat day, and dumb rules like no hats, Josh was complaining to me the other day about how lame his recess is.  Recess, singular.  That's problem number one.  He is in second grade, is in school for 7 hours, and has ONE short recess.  Now in that recess they are not allowed to play with balls, sticks, in the forest, there are no swings, they took out the "high" bar, and the playground is about the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.  Oh, they're also discouraged from running because, you know, it's dangerous.  Parker and I were talking about how sad we are for our boys that they are growing up in such an overprotective atmosphere at school.  We keep thinking it's just an east coast thing but maybe it's even gotten bad on the west coast?  Also, on both their report cards they excelled academically but both need to "save their talking to recess time."  So they get 20 minutes a day to be social?  Schools need to focus a little more on socialization and physical fitness and a little less on the long lost Indian tribes Josh is supposed to memorize.  The worst part is?  I am powerless.  All I can do is ensure that when they are in MY care they are free to be KIDS and yes, maybe, even...get hurt.  But guess what?  THAT'S HOW THEY LEARN!  Sometimes I long for "the good ol days!"

Tyce loves these jammies but I just think they're getting a little too small, hahaha...

Poor Jack came home from school bawling because he slipped in the mud and ruined his brand new white shorts...
Apparently Tyce has taken to meditating...
Saturday it was Josh's turn to go summer clothes shopping with me...
 This was his favorite shirt...
He was beyond thrilled to eat at Taco Bell, since mommy never takes him there...
I can think of so FEW times my kids have ever fallen asleep in the car but both Jack and Josh did on their way to the mall...I guess it's boring when you don't have brothers to entertain you during the drive!
Then he woke up, caught me taking pictures, and smiled this devious smile...
Sunday morning we played the card game War in my bed for over an hour...everyone won once except me, here they are telling me I'm the loser...
Ever wonder how my extremely busy hubby stays in such great shape?!  Push ups with kids on your back of course!

So if you look closely you will see the name TYCE written on this closet door.  However, Tyce INSISTS that it wasn't him that did it...despite the fact that it is HIS name and in HIS distinctive handwriting.  He eventually told the truth but got in trouble for lying to us...punk!
The weather the past couple days has been BEAUTIFUL!  Not hot and not cold!  Saturday morning it was even cool enough that I could run 10 miles!  It felt great!  Sunday night we went on a family walk...

That night after family prayer the boys all did a spontaneous hug which was precious.  My boys are far from perfect but one thing I love about them is they really don't fight very often.  I really think they love each other and love to be together.  When given a choice to do something fun alone or bring their brothers they always chose the latter.  I hope it continues throughout their lives.
We have been keeping busy with school, baseball, piano, work, church commitments, ninja, etc.  Tyce graduates from preschool this week and will be SO sad when it is over!

Cousin Pics

When the boys and I were in Utah over Spring Break we had someone take pictures of all the cousins then surprised my mom with them for Mother's Day.  Here is one of each pose, the kids were all extremely cooperative but it's still hard to get all 8 kids looking and smiling cute at the same time!  The photographer also put them facing the sun which does NOT work for Tyce and Josh who have super sensitive eyes!  But, here is one of each pose...

What adorable grandchildren my parents have!!!  :)

School Pics

Jackson's 2nd grade class, Ms. Akins was his teacher...

Josh's 2nd grade class, Ms. Keener was his teacher...

I can't believe preschool is over in a week and 2nd grade is over in about a month!!!  I'm getting excited for the freedom of summer though!

Update

Here's what's been going on here...

"No mommy I PROMISE I didn't touch the flour!"...
 Playing games...
Josh LOVES wings with SPICY sauce!
Who needs a deck when you can do this...
Tyce is hilarious at the library, he picks books based on how clean and well taken care of they are. It takes him SO long to find out he likes.  He looks through every page for rips, stains, creases, etc...
The boys had  movie night/sleepover downstairs, they are so lucky to have each other...

Jackson and cuddly Brody...
It's finally warmed up around here so we walked to the train station to meet daddy...

We had a picnic lunch at Kimberly's house with Jake...
Traci, who rarely leaves the house after 5pm with the girls, joined us for dinner and ice cream...the kids had a blast together as always...
Friday Fun Day at my house!!!

Watching Joshy play baseball..Jake, Jasper, Jack, and Tyce...
Jackson and I had a special day on Saturday and went shopping for summer clothes.  Here we are before we headed into the mall...
Hahaha, he accidently tried on some girls shorts...it was hilarious.  He was rolling on the ground laughing and it reminded me so much of going clothes shopping with my mom growing up.  I remember going shopping with her for school or summer clothes and she was always in a good mood and when I'd try on something that was too big, too small, or just hilarious looking her and I would crack up.  Ah memories!

Spoiled boy got some great stuff!
Sunday was Mother's Day, Parker ironed my skirt for me...
I couldn't decide which one I liked better...

I got to sleep in, the boys gave me cute homemade gifts, Parker gave me a thoughtful gift that I am going to return, haha.  He made breakfast, dinner, and did all the household duties...it was glorious!!  It's my fav day of the year and it flew by!

I am extremely grateful for my own mom who taught me all I know about mothering.  She was always a good example to me of hard work, devotion, and patience.  She is one of my closest friends and by far the person I call the most!  :)

I am also grateful for my second mom, or mother in law.  She shows unconditional love, acceptance, and patience for me and my children and for that I am so appreciative.  She would do anything for her family and is very unselfish.

On the way home from church the other day they were all hot so they stripped down!  Gotta love Tyce's Chip N Dale look...
Tyce had "beach day" at preschool and when I picked him up he was COVERED in red popsicle...how he managed to get it in some places is beyond me...

I bought each of the kids a new my little pony/equestrian doll...they were SO excited!  Yes, Tyce loves My Little Ponies.  No, I am not worried.  He spends most of his days with Leah and Sarah and has always been accommodating to them to always play girl things.  He also loves sports, dirt, bugs, guns, and all things "boy" so for now I am just going to enjoy having some girly toys around the house.  :)

It was super hot so we ran in the sprinklers!  Later, when the twins came home from school, Lori and I filled 250 water balloons and the neighborhood boys had a super fun water balloon fight!
