Orlando Trip Part 1

Since the boys have two weeks off in October we decided to go play!  We went to Orlando for a week to do Sea World and Aquatica.  My parents also joined us which made it even better!

We decided to save money and DRIVE!  It was our first family road trip because we usually are going out West so we fly.  We left early Sunday morning and it took 15 hours (thanks to a 1.5 hour detour due to bridge closures because of Hurricane Joaquin) and the boys were absolute angels.  We drove for a while then stopped for breakfast.  After that we only stopped for gas!  We ate lunch and dinner in the car and didn't even have any potty stops!  SO grateful for our comfy and spacious mini van!

Here they are all cozy watching movies...

We picked up my parents from the airport and headed to the resort!  We stayed at Vacation Village in Kissimmee, Florida and it worked out great.  It was only about 20 minutes from Sea World.  Josh got his own bed in my parent's room (we had adjoining rooms)...
And Jackson and Tyce shared a bed in our room...
Tyce reading to Grandma, one of their favorite things to do together!
Monday morning we headed to Sea World!!!
Josh and I were SO excited for the shows!

Seymore and Clyde...

We got stuck for about 15 minutes on the Empire of the Penguin ride, which ended up not being so bad because they gave us some Quick Que passes as an apology for the inconvenience so that really helped in some of the longer roller coaster lines!
Penguins!!!

Josh has been worried for the past two months that he wouldn't be tall enough to ride the two big roller coasters, Manta and Kracken.  He was BARELY 54 inches and was able to ride.  :)  So glad because he LOVED them!
Killer Whale show!!

We stayed until closing then headed back to the resort for swimming...

Tyce and Grandma reading again..
Grandpa giving Jackson one of his famous head massages...
Tuesday we headed back to Sea World!

My mom stayed with Tyce a lot while the rest of us rode the crazier rides.  Tyce LOVED Ocean Commotion and rode it over and over...

We all really enjoyed the Pets Ahoy show...

 Dolphin show...
We were in line about to get on Journey to Atlantis (a log ride) and Tyce started bawling saying he didn't want to ride it because he was scared.  Our family rule is you try everything once, if you don't like it you don't have to do it again.  Well, the stupid ride operator said that since he was crying he wouldn't let him ride and made him get off.  I was SO mad!  I could not believe they would let a 6 year old make a decision over his parents.  Tyce also learned if he cries he gets it way, which is NOT how things go in our house.  Super frustrating.  He was also scared of the Shamu Express roller coaster, which my mom made him try, and he LOVED it!  It ended up being his favorite ride and he rode it a million times.  Here he is at Journey to Atlantis...

Part 2 coming up!!!

Update

Things have been crazy busy around here with fall sports, school, work, putting the house together, etc.  But here's a look at what we've been up to...

I changed my hair from blond to dark brown with some red highlights!  I really like it...

The boys LOVE the new deck and being able to eat outside...

Brody loves it too...
After school one day the boys and I headed to DC to meet Parker at work.  His work provided a rooftop ballpark dinner then tickets to the Nationals game.  I forgot to get pics on the roof but we grabbed a few in his office...

At the game...

The boys made a fort in the forest behind our house...

Tyce found a rock shaped like the state of Utah and was BEYOND excited about it...
Brody hogging Josh's pillow...
Jackson and Brody...
Tyce snuggled up in MY blanket ready to read with me...
I have been subbing quite a bit this year and was able to sub Josh's class one day, it was so fun to see him with his friends...
Speaking of friends, here's Tyce with his two besties Kenshi and Michael.  They come over most Wednesdays to play and they have SO much fun together!  Tyce "wishes I spoke another language like Kenshi and Michael.  I just speak American."  Haha...

Saturday morning cuddle session with daddy...
I don't take many pics of Jack's games because you can't really see him with his gear on but here's a few...

He is now playing linebacker and kicker which he is excited about.

Josh had an overnight sleepover party so Jackson and Tyce wanted to have their own sleepover. These two have SO much fun together I love it...
I took Traci and Sarah to get pedicures and ice cream this week, they are both due to have baby boys in the next few weeks and I thought it would be fun to all get together.  I love these two and feel so blessed to have them in my life!
One last cute one of Brody and Jackson sleeping...
House pics coming soon!!!!
