Jackson and Josh's First Triathlon!

Jackson and Josh competed in their first triathlon last Saturday.  Jackson kept saying how excited he was and Josh kept saying how nervous he was.  It was a 50 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike ride, and .5 mile run.  They were in the 8-9 age group.

Here they are waiting for it to start...

They thought it was so cool that they got numbers...

Waiting for the swim to start...
Time to hop in the freezing cold pool!!!

Jackson won the swim by a hair...
Getting their shoes on for the bike ride...

 And they're off!
Tyce was super tired from staying up late and getting up early so he rested in the grass the whole time...

Dropping their bikes off to head out for the run...

 Here comes Jackson...

And here comes Josh, about 30 seconds behind his brother...

THEY DID IT!!!

Jackson got 1st place for the boys and overall, he was SO proud!  He wanted to win, and he did...
Josh got 2nd place for the boys and overall, he was bummed because he probably would have beat Jackson had his shoelace not gotten stuck in his bike.  He had to stop, get off the bike, and pull his lace out.  By that point Jack had passed him.  Luckily he was a good sport about it!

I was SO proud of my boys for trying something new and doing something hard.  It was a smaller event which was a good start for them.  They both said they want to do another one!  Good job Jackson and Josh!!!

Update

Here's what we've been up to...

Josh's bff Peyton joined us at the pool...

One day while Jackson and Tyce were fighting Josh went in his room and made collars for all his stuffed animals!  So cute...

While watching So You Think You Can Dance Josh got inspired to do headstands...

I, the unbeaten champion of Monster Mash, challenged the boys to a game...which I, of course, won...
Tyce sure loves his stuffed animals...

Movie date with my boys!
New Oregon Duck shirts from Auntie Nicole...

Saturday we headed down to Lake Anna as a family...

The best part of going to Lake Anna is being able to stop at the Moo Thru for ice cream!!!  Seriously best ice cream ever...

It's so good that TYCE MORRILL ate some!!!  This kid hates ice cream but even HE recognizes amazing ice cream when he tastes it  :)

Tyce got a water rocket for his birthday and they are loving it...

Afternoon relaxing at the pool...

Brody, even at age 12, still loves to play...

And sleep...
