Update

Time for a quick update on the Morrill family!  Nothing too exciting going on these days.  Jack and Josh are doing really well in their separate classes, they don't seem to miss each other but seem happy to be together after school.  They are still enjoying soccer.  Tyce LOVES preschool, absolutely loves it and looks forward to it every day.  He is learning a lot and loves his teacher.  He is still playing soccer, although I don't think he loves it.  I'm thinking maybe we started him too young.  Parker and I are just being mom and dad, housewife and provider, and trying to find time for each other in between all the craziness.

Here are some cell phone pics I wanted to add...

Brody is seriously the most awesome/unique cat.  When  I go for my morning runs he waits for me by the fence where I stop running and start walking and then he does my cool down with me, walking right next to me.  It's so cute.  When he first sees me he meows and runs over to me.  I love that he has a dog like personality without the high maintenance aspects of actually having a dog!
We went on a walk and this was too cute a pic to pass up on...
Despite our busy evenings we try to get story time in each night, Jack and Josh are really good readers and I attribute that, in large part, to Parker reading to them every night since they were very little.  It's also some much needed daddy time for the boys.
Josh lost his first top tooth!  Ah, bring on the big ugly adult teeth!  Hahaha!

Traci and I are doing a swap this school year where she takes Tyce after preschool on Mondays and I take her girls on Wednesday.  It works out so great because we get breaks and the kids get to play together.  Tyce LOVES Traci's house, it's probably his favorite place to go.  Here are the kids making cards at my house last week...
Ah homework time.  Don't let this picture fool you...rarely is this what it looks like.  Josh is pretty good at doing his, Tyce LOVES homework, Jackson...ah he's so difficult!  Some days he's perfectly fine but he's very unpredictable, he can turn into tantrum mode in no time.  His teacher assigns lots of homework and we've just got to find a way to make it work for everyone.
Sunday evening, all my boys watching football while I slave away in the kitchen making them dinner...the joys of motherhood!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love baby Anna?  I love that Traci lets me snuggle on her babies so I get my baby fix without having to actually have them myself.  :)  She's three months now and growing up way too fast!

In other news, Tyce gets his tonsils and adenoids out tomorrow morning...I'm nervous about it but ready for it to be over and for him to start sleeping better.  I'll update on him soon!!!

Tyce's Email

The other day Tyce asked Parker if he could send me an email, Tyce told Parker what to type...

Thank you mommy for washing our new clean clothes.

Thank you mommy for making my bed.

I love you mommy!

Thank you for washing my clean clean ylala.

Happy Birthday to mommy.

Thank you mommy for my new bed.

Thank you for my new clothes mommy.

Thank you for my flip flops and my water shoes. Those are really new. I've never had water shoes.

Thank you for my new pants and my new shirt and my new pants that I'm wearing.

Then I want to say thank you for my new animal bin.

Tyçe

So sweet!!!  It's hilarious because some of the "new" things he thanked me for are almost a year old!  Haha, he has a good memory and is very appreciative...love you Tyce!!!

Tyce's First Day of Preschool!

Today was Tyce's first day of preschool!  He has been looking forward to this day for a long time now and he was so excited it was finally here!  First I'll start with pics from preschool orientation which was last week.

Tyce and his teacher, Mrs. Blue...

Showing me the folder he decorated while Mrs. Blue talked to the parents...
 Listening very intently...
 Mommy and Tyce...
 Daddy and Tyce...

Now on to today, I purposely had Tyce wear the same outfit the twins wore on their first day of preschool, I even wanted him to stand in front of the same door but the preschool got a new door sometime in the last three years, oh darn!  Haha, anyways...look how cute they all are...

Waiting in car line to drop him off.  He  made it very clear he did NOT want me to walk him in!  He told me "don't be sad I'm leaving you mommy, guess what?  You can play with my batman setup, my weapons, the pretend kitchen, my guns, whatever you want to play with of my toys...you can!"  Hahaha, he said it so genuinely too...so sweet!
How did his first day go?  Well this was his reaction when I told him we had to go and he couldn't stay at preschool...
He obviously had a GREAT first day and did NOT want to go home!  Hahaha.  I'm pretty sure we'll have a good year at preschool.  :)

First Soccer Game!

On Saturday the boys all had their first soccer game.  They woke up super excited and were dressed in their uniforms and shin guards about four hours early.

Tyce's game was first...

 That's his coach, Coach Caleb...
His game was hilarious, they lost by about 30 goals and Tyce even scored one for the wrong team!  Hahaha, he was so excited after he kicked it in that he turned to the sidelines and gave us a thumbs up!  We did not have the heart to tell him his mistake.  When the game first started all the kids started running to one end of the field and Tyce just stood there in center field.  When we yelled GO TYCE he looked at us, put his hands in the air, and said "go where?"  Hahaha, he was oblivious to the game for the first little bit but then he caught on.  In his defense, he is the youngest on either team because you had to be 4 by August 1st and he turned 4 on July 31st so, although he's tall, he is younger than most kids out there.  The good news is he had fun and didn't give up!
 My cute little soccer boys...
 The twins game was next...

They have a really good team (they were all together last year and undefeated).  Jackson and Josh are the only ones that have never played before.  I was really impressed with the other kids but also impressed with how fast my boys were catching on, especially Josh.  I think being on such a good team will really push them to learn and improve fast.  Josh really seems to get the game and is coordinated and fast.  Jackson had lots of fun and tried hard.  After the game they were both really happy (especially because they won) and are already counting down the days until their next game!  Here's to a good season of soccer!!!

Update

While my parents were here we all went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday...

Sunday night Tyce and I headed to the hospital for his sleep study to see if his tonsils are causing sleep apnea and thus need to be taken out.  He was pretty excited to have a sleepover at the hospital with mommy...
He was an angel while they hooked him up, it took forever and he kept on getting more and more uncomfortable.  He only cried once when they put the nasal cannula and this other sensor thing up his nose.  We ended up taking it out until he fell asleep then putting it back in.  The technicians went on and on and on about how he's the best patient they've ever had, so cooperative and so happy.  I was so proud of him!
I was worried he'd have a hard time falling asleep but he was out in 5 minutes, slept till 5am, when he woke up to go potty.  Luckily they had enough data so we were able to go home!  Tyce went back to sleep and slept until 10am!  We should hear back in about two weeks the results of the sleep study.
Monday was our last day at the pool with our awesome lifeguards from Slovakia.  In the four years we've lived here they were by far our best lifeguards.  When we were leaving they gave the boys their lifeguard gear, hats, fanny packs, and whistles.  The boys thought they were pretty cool...
This week soccer started!  We decided to try soccer this fall instead of football and we'll see how it goes!  Their first game is Saturday but here are some pics from their first practice...

Getting back into the school routine has been a little rough around here.  Tuesday and Wednesday they were tired and whiney.  Last night we talked about being happier in the mornings and Josh even prayed that they'd have a better morning.  This morning I woke up and came into their room to this...
Sweet boys had gotten up with their alarm, got dressed, and made their beds and were just sitting there waiting for me with big grins on their faces.  It was so cute how excited they were to make me happy.  I don't know if they'll keep it up but I could sure get used to it!!!

And the obligatory picture in front of the school sign...

This morning we took some pics before they headed off to school...

Waiting at the bus stop with Alyssa...

After we dropped the twins off at the bus stop we went to the train station and dropped Parker off.  I asked Tyce if he was sad his brothers were gone and he said, "umm...not so much."  Hahaha.  He starts pre-school next week so this week we're going to enjoy some one on one time together!  Here's to a good school year!!!
