Week With My Parents

My parents flew into DC on a red eye Saturday night but hung out in DC until Tuesday because my dad had meetings and my mom was sight seeing.  Tuesday we met up for lunch in Tyson's Corner, it was snowing, again...
My mom got the twins these cute ball puzzles, they LOVED them and figured them out super fast...

The finished product...

Grandma and Tyce love to do puzzles and color together...

Brody always gets LOTS of love when my parents are here...
My mom and I made 11 bottles of strawberry jam, yummmmy...

Not many grandpas would squeeze themselves into the tiny backseat but Grandpa Barraclough is one of a kind  :)
My parents took the twins out to lunch one day (they chose Taco Bell, much to my mom's distaste.  In fact, to quote her, "Jenn...there was a LINE!  People actually LINE UP to eat there!")  Hahaha.  Tyce chose Pizza Hut...

One morning I came home from the gym to my mom making me homemade waffles, scrambled eggs, and cutting up strawberries for me.  Yes, she did that every day while I lived at home but I did NOT appreciate it then!  Now, it makes my day  :)
Ok, confession time...I ate about 14 popcorn balls in two days...I was addicted...
The boys riding their bikes with the neighbor friends Adam and Jhed...
Playing football with Grandpa and riding bikes...

Saturday we headed to the mall to see the Easter Bunny...
 Ride the train...
 And the carousel...
That night we got a sitter and went to PF Changs.  It was delicious and so relaxing!!!
This morning they had to leave, always a sad sad time...
We had a great week and I feel so blessed my parents come out as often as they do.  The good news is...I will see them again in two weeks when we head to Utah!!!  LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!!!

Basketball is Over!

Basketball season is officially over for Jackson and Josh!  We ended up 1-9, pretty pathetic but the twins really didn't seem to mind and they had lots of fun.  Josh's best game was when he scored 12 of the team's 18 points.  Jackson had his best (offensive) game last night scoring 8 points.  Jackson is a defensive star and I loved watching him guard.

Last night we had the end of season party...
Coach Parker and Assistant Coach Abraham...
I think my decorations turned out pretty good...

Josh got the "Mr. Joe Cool" award because after he scores he always acts like it was no big deal whereas most kids celebrate.  Very Josh...

Jackson got the defensive star award, very appropriate...

 Way to go Warriors!!!

Here's hoping for a better season next year!!!

Update

Jackson and Josh are twins but, in many ways, are complete opposites.  A perfect example of this is their closet...
Jackson is on the left, his shoes are ALWAYS put away and ALWAYS organized.  Josh's are usually on the floor, under the bed, on the bed, who knows.  When I ask him to put them away...he just throws them in there.  Tyce is like Jackson, his shoes are always put away and organized.  If I can just convince Josh that OUR way is the best way, I'll be set!  :)

In other news, we decided to try out martial arts for the boys.  Parker has been wanting to put Jackson in it for a while and since he's not doing baseball this year we decided to try it, but of course Josh and Tyce wanted to try too.  They LOVED it and were SO stinkin cute!  The only problem...it's very expensive and we just can't justify the cost.  They were bummed but we are going to try the cheaper American Ninja Warrior class at the community rec center and see how that goes.  Anyways, here's some pics and videos...

Last Friday I took the twins to the rec center for a St. Patty's Day activity for kids ages 6-12.  They got to decorate cookies...
Make a leprechaun craft...

Then swim for treasure...

They had so much fun!  Where was Tyce you ask?  He was home having a special night with daddy that included lots of games, watching Mickey Mouse, and eating popcorn.  This is how I found them when we got home (at 9:30pm!  Needless to say he was a basket case the next day)...
This was just too cute...

We are having yet ANOTHER snow day today, we got about 6 inches...I am so over the snow and winter and am ready for SPRING!  The boys are out playing in the snow right now and having a blast though.  My parents come in a week!  WOO HOO!!!
