Back to regular life...boo!
On the plus side, Christine and her boys stayed with us for two nights which was super fun. My boys ADORE her boys and they have so much fun together. It was so cute one night I kissed Kai to sleep and he rolls over, half asleep, and whispers "I love you Aunt Jenn." Melted my heart. I have really fallen in love with those two sweet boys!!!
So Jackson took his snowboard to our neighborhood sledding hill, made a big jump out of the snow, and fell, hard, on his face. Josh called me and said, "umm Mommy you should probably come get Jack, he fell and he's not moving or talking." I threw on my snow boots and ran over. It was very scary to see him laying flat on his back unable to talk. He was able to move his limbs and he understood what I was saying just couldn't form words or sentences. Kesti took my other two to her house and I took Jackson to the ER. After some time and tests they said it was just a concussion and since he hit the front of his face loss of speech wasn't entirely uncommon. He slowly regained his speech and was pretty normal about two days later...total miracle!
I love Jackson, and he's a smart boy, but he takes FOREVER to do his homework and it drives me crazy! It's not that he doesn't understand it or that he is arguing with me about doing it, he just is slow slow slow and easily distracted. Poor guy sometimes will work on one worksheet for like two hours. So I've decided if I sit with him and keep him on task things go quicker...
Kitties hiding..
This was the night after his concussion and poor guy had such a headache from doing his homework I ended up asking his teacher for an extension...
One morning I woke up to this...sweet Tyce had everyone's breakfast stuff all laid out! He's such a thoughtful boy!
We went to Olivia's gymnastics meet and I forgot to get a pic of her but she was adorable and did great! These handsome boys were her cheering section...
My parents are in town so we went out to dinner all the couples plus grandma which was so fun! Then back to my house for GAMES and cake for Jason and Dana!
LOVE my sisters!
Even when they look like this...
Well, Jackson's hover board already has taken down Michelle, and my dad was the next victim. He was cruising along on it and totally fell backwards, smacking and whip lashing his head hard.
He was very confused, didn't remember much, and was in a lot of pain! Poor guy!
Brody was less than concerned about the fall, because he was busy snuggling with my mom...
Naughty kitties...
Emma turned THREE! I still can't believe we live in Utah and can actually ATTEND these family parties! She is so stinkin cute and I love her so much!
Too cute to not photograph...
And, finally, we had our school spelling bee! The top three spellers in each class get to compete in the school spelling bee and all three of my boys qualified. Tyce was up first...
HE WON! He rocked all his words and got 1st place!
He was SO excited and proud, he was dancing when they were giving him his medal! It was adorable...
I'm so happy my parents were in town for it, he was too cute to miss!
Then it was time for 5th grade! Josh got out on the first round with the word experience. I felt a little bad for him but he did not study barely at all. He didn't try hard so he didn't do well and I hope that he learns from this experience, hahaha I'm hilarious...
Jackson, on the other hand, studied hard and was very determined to do well and...he did!
HE WON ALSO!!!! I was actually surprised, I knew he was smart and prepared but so were a lot of other kids up there! He won on the word mechanic which was a pretty easy one luckily. The only word that almost tripped him up was preferable which can be tricky.
I'm super proud of him!!!
PHEW I'm finally all caught up! Lindsay and I leave for Oregon in a few days for a sisters trip to my parents new Eagle Crest house and we are really looking forward to some time without kiddos, husbands, or responsibilities!!
