Since the boys have two weeks off in October we decided to go play! We went to Orlando for a week to do Sea World and Aquatica. My parents also joined us which made it even better!
We decided to save money and DRIVE! It was our first family road trip because we usually are going out West so we fly. We left early Sunday morning and it took 15 hours (thanks to a 1.5 hour detour due to bridge closures because of Hurricane Joaquin) and the boys were absolute angels. We drove for a while then stopped for breakfast. After that we only stopped for gas! We ate lunch and dinner in the car and didn't even have any potty stops! SO grateful for our comfy and spacious mini van!
Here they are all cozy watching movies...
We picked up my parents from the airport and headed to the resort! We stayed at Vacation Village in Kissimmee, Florida and it worked out great. It was only about 20 minutes from Sea World. Josh got his own bed in my parent's room (we had adjoining rooms)...
And Jackson and Tyce shared a bed in our room...
Tyce reading to Grandma, one of their favorite things to do together!
Monday morning we headed to Sea World!!!
Josh and I were SO excited for the shows!
Seymore and Clyde...
We got stuck for about 15 minutes on the Empire of the Penguin ride, which ended up not being so bad because they gave us some Quick Que passes as an apology for the inconvenience so that really helped in some of the longer roller coaster lines!
Penguins!!!
Josh has been worried for the past two months that he wouldn't be tall enough to ride the two big roller coasters, Manta and Kracken. He was BARELY 54 inches and was able to ride. :) So glad because he LOVED them!
Killer Whale show!!
We stayed until closing then headed back to the resort for swimming...
Tyce and Grandma reading again..
Grandpa giving Jackson one of his famous head massages...
Tuesday we headed back to Sea World!
We all really enjoyed the Pets Ahoy show...
Dolphin show...
We were in line about to get on Journey to Atlantis (a log ride) and Tyce started bawling saying he didn't want to ride it because he was scared. Our family rule is you try everything once, if you don't like it you don't have to do it again. Well, the stupid ride operator said that since he was crying he wouldn't let him ride and made him get off. I was SO mad! I could not believe they would let a 6 year old make a decision over his parents. Tyce also learned if he cries he gets it way, which is NOT how things go in our house. Super frustrating. He was also scared of the Shamu Express roller coaster, which my mom made him try, and he LOVED it! It ended up being his favorite ride and he rode it a million times. Here he is at Journey to Atlantis...
Part 2 coming up!!!
