Jackson's Cross Country

Jackson had his final cross country meet last week and he did great!  He decided, last minute, to race the two mile because Parker was on his way from work and wouldn't make it in time to see him race the one mile.  I was so proud of him for trying something new and handling it so well!

Here he is before his race...

Notice the tall 8th grader next to him?!  One thing I didn't like about this running club is that they didn't separate the kids based on age groups so Jack was running with kids ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade, I think he would've ran faster had he been running with kids his own age and they were neck and neck.

Making the one mile loop...

 Finishing...
He finished at 19:13 and was super happy!  Way to go Jackson!!!
 Jack with his coach Jordan...
After his race he got to pick out a treat and he picked cake pops!  Mommy's boy for sure!!!
After that we went Halloween costume shopping...something I've been dreading!  I hate Halloween, costumes, candy, expense...but they've been dying to pick out their costumes.  Can I just say that boy costumes are so lame!!!

After they finally made their choices we headed to Red Robin for dinner...
It was a fabulous dinner because...EVERYONE ATE ALL THEIR DINNER!!!  Seriously, that never happens in our family when we go out.  It was a wonderful night and I am so glad Parker was able to leave work so early to make it!
